How many and how tall...?

I have a shed that I might use as a chicken coop and was wondering how many chickens it could hold comfortably...its 4 ft wide and 8 ft long.



On the other hand, I might just build a new one. Seeing as how fast I can get up off my butt and build one.

It will be housing two rhode island reds, two buff orpingtons, and two easter eggers. With these being bigger chickens how far off the ground does the perch need to be?

you can put the roost 3 or 4ft off the ground.

Each standard size bird needs approx. 5sq ft pre bird inside the coop and 10sq. ft in the run.

Each bantam will need 3sq. ft. pre bird inside and 7--in the run..
