My coop is going to be 10 feet × 40 feet. They will free range during the day. How many chickens could fit comfortably?

Bantams or standard size?

Also some breeds like game fowl obviously need more room or they will fight.

You have a lot of room so you could certainly fit a lot, but it will be hard to tell without a few more details.
My advice is to start on the smaller, roomier side of things and then add on to your flock as necessary.

Technically, you have enough room for 100. But if you live somewhere where the chickens will be inside for several months in the year due to weather, then probably no more than 25.

I live in Florida. Would that ever prevent them for being able to go outside, sorry, newbie here.

I would not expect them to got out during a torrential rain storm or hurricane force winds, which I believe Florida experiences with regularity. So they would be in the coop for several days at a time, which means 20 dual purpose birds, or 25 light breed, or 30 bantams.

I was thinking about having around 25 so I'm happy to know that I have the space for them.
