I am not sure how many standard sized chickens I can keep in my coop and run. The coop is about 6x8 and the run is around 10x8. Any help is appreciated as I wouldn't want to crowd my birds.
Thanks,

depending on breed it should hold 8 large fowl pretty comfortably, 16-20 bantams. you could add a little onto the run and get it up to 12 large fowl, by standards anyways.

the average measurements to go by for large fowl are 4 square feet inside and 10 square feet outside.

Thanks so much. I got the dimensions slightly off the coop will be 5x8 and the run is 10x10 does that make any difference?

that setup is good for about 10 large fowl or 20 bantams (est). you could probably have more bantams.

how you figure it:

on the coop you multiply the 2 dimensions in your case 5x8=40 then divide that answer by 4.

on the run multiply the 2 dimensions in your case 10x10=100. divide that answer by 10

the smallest number is the estimated number your coop and run can hold on large fowl. for bantams its safe to multiply by 2, most people say 3.
