how many chickens per sq ft?

we're setting up some 12ft x 12ft pens for our current flock. a mixture that we're trying to seperate for breeding and some pol's but wondering what you'd recommend when it comes to numbers per sq ft? thay will be fixed pens but expansion and rotation will possible. looking for a rough guide on what everyone would suggest per sq ft?

I do believe it's 4 sq ft per bird in the coop and 10 sq ft p bird in the run.

I thought about 4 per sq ft would be about right so 3 birds per pen would be okay. Thanks everyone for putting my mind at ease and confiming my suspicions
