I am a new chick owner and I have silkie and polish bantam chicks. I'm not sure how many adult bantams I can keep where they all have plenty of room and can live comfortably. The run is 9 ft long and 5 ft wide. The enclosed wood part/brooder is 34 inches across not including the nesting box area that stick out an extra 8 1/2 inches and 5 ft wide. The chickens will be locked in the brooder area at night and let out each morning. The chickens will also have free time outside in our yard but it will only be 1-2 hours a day. I appreciate any help you can give since I will have to choose between which chicks I can keep next month. I bought extras so I could increase my chances of getting pullets.

I currently have 24 chicks ( I meant to say the chicks are 8 weeks old but I just re did the math and they were delivered 3/10/10 so they are younger than I thought) so I have quite a few chicks to rehome once I can figure out which ones are pullets.
