How many chickens will fit into a nesting box?

Sooo... the integration isn't going so well. Tonight I went to doublecheck the girls after dark to see how they were doing. I found the following stuff into a nesting box:

17-week old BO and BA
10-week old BR, BA, cochin, & polish

Poor things. It's WWIII in that coop.

Mine always do stuff like that. Do you have a roost that they can reach?

I got 8-12 in mine, but it's a community box and they think it's the Sheraton.

My silkies have managed to offically squeeze 6 into one box... maybe 7...

I have some 12 week old juvies that will not go into the coop until they are almost 17 weeks... towards the end of August. I want to give them a fighting chance and by then I can cull or rehome so little roos.
