My EE just started laying 3 days ago. I saw somewhere that these types of birds only lay an average of 3 a week.does this mean she won't lay for a couple of days now. Just curious of everyone's personal experiences with there EE.

On a side note my RIR started laying last Monday and has layed consecutively for 10 days. Very exciting.

when a chicken first starts to lay, they usually lay a lot. I've noticed a lot of my first time layers laying one a day for the first week or 2, they after that they get into the swing of things a lay a more normal amount of eggs. how exciting that they started laying!! its always so fun to find eggs!!

EEs usually start laying at 8 months of age there later than other breeds they usually lay afew times and then quit i feed my EE seed oat and they won't stop laying

23 weeks. I only have 2 one RIR and one EE and they were hatched the same day.

They can start out slowly only every few days, or they can start going great guns laying everyday.

Takes up to a month or so for them to get thing in gear.

Every individual chicken is different, you'll just have to wait a few months to see what your EE lays per week.

2 of my EE lay 4-6 a week....one lays 6-7 a week, but she's a cross with a production bird.

We have 2 EE crosses (Crossed with what, I haven't a clue). One lays blue while the other lays olive. We're getting 5 or 6 eggs a week out of them (each, not combined), and they've been laying for 2 or 3 months now. Winter was slower, but production is really bumping up with the longer days.

My EE's lay nearly daily. The ammount of eggs they lay can include many factors, including their bloodline. Most hatcheries have their own bloodline, so you might want to check with your hatchery for more exact information on egg production.

One of my EE lays 5-6 a weekand the other lays 4. So They lay fairly well.
