How many eggs a week?

My understanding is that Buff Orpingtons will lay an average 5 or so eggs a week. I have 2 BOs both who started laying for the first time last month and thought they would start out a bit slow. I very recently decided to start keeping track. I had 2 eggs 5 days in a row, then 1 egg, then 2 eggs for the next 4 days. That means one of the 2 has laid an egg every day for 10 days! The other laid one everyday for 5 days, took a day off, then laid one for the next 4 days. I'm imagining I'll get only one tomorrow but if there are 2........!!
Is it normal for BOs to lay every day?

Mine is a crappy layer. Maybe 3 eggs a week. Right now I’m getting 1-2 from her. When she first started laying she did really well. Eggs 5 days a week. Now that she turned a year and and had a molt not so much.

While they are young, yes. They’ll keep it up for about 3 months, and it’ll slow, but not by much. Then, they will lay 5-6 eggs every week.
