i am just curious how many eggs a broody bantam hen could possibly sit on?
i have bantam frizzled cochin hen i bought back in May and i have only had 3 eggs out of her since, all within the 1st month i had her-none since. i thought she might have been in a moult when i got her because she was so thin in the feathers and now she's beautifully fluffy again, but she still hasn't given me any eggs.
now i've noticed that she seems interested in grabbing the eggs from my hand when i've shown the other girls' eggs to see her reaction. (some of my other girls have started laying in the last month, others i'm still waiting on.)
i have thought about giving her a few eggs to try and hatch but i am just curious as to how many i could give her without over burdening her since she is a small bird and it is starting to get cold in our area. my current laying pullets at this time are all bantams so i am looking at giving her small eggs.
