How many eggs?

I have 23 girls. How many eggs should I get a day when they start laying?

is it one egg every 24-36 hours? like 2 eggs every three days per hen? that's what i read anyway. someone else might be more up on this...

You should be getting 16-18 eggs a day once they start laying.

Sara, most Chickens lay an egg every 26 hour or so. They will lay one day at, say, 7:00 AM, the next day she will lay a little later. They will lay a little later each day till it gets too late to lay, then she will skip a day and will start in the morning again.

I can't wait!!!!! DH loves eggs, me too but him more than me. He gets mad on the weekends when he wants a giant breakfast and we don't have any eggs. I've been saving egg cartons since before I got my chicks. I have a cabnet full. Man 16-18 I better put a sign at the road when they start laying:
