How many eggs?

I plan to hatch some eggs for a friend, he wants six chicks. How many eggs should I put in my incubator, 6 or more???

Unfortunately there is no right answer to this. You could put in 6 eggs, and get 6 or 4 or 0 chicks. I put 11 eggs in with my last hatch and only had 5 chicks.

If you put in more than the 6 eggs, would you be able to keep or find homes for the extra chicks that you friend doesn't want? If not, I would stay with the minimum, cause you can always incubate more.
