this is the guy in NC who raised them as pets, that i was referring to. Just shows it can be done, i suppose. I think hes on this forum, too

8-10 years, we had a member named 'Casuarius.' In the U.S., I think. Bred cassowary. Enormously knowledgeable.

Edit: the One-Year report on the ostriches? Gee, this is a nice resource -- that is, a video rather than a text. I'd love to see more of these, perhaps including close-ups of the whys and wherefores of appropriate fencing.
