A quick question to you all. i have a small coop (2m x 1.5m) and a small run (2m x 2m) for 3 or 4 hens (not yet brought). How many feeders and drinkers do i need? can i just have one of each in the coop for protection from rain and sun? or do i need one of each in the coop and run? I'm thinking i could have a feeder in the coop and scatter some food in the run and greens for foraging. The hens would be free to roam in and out of the coop all day but locked in at night.

I am not sure of how others do it but me I have them both outside because if I didn't they would never leave lol my coop for my girls is medium to large and I have it set up outside I have a hangin feeder/waterer for them in the run.

For as many as you have right now I would say one each of the feeder/waterer should be plenty for your girls. I do need to add I don't choice feed I time feed ( they get one hour 3times a day to eat then I take it away but I do keep scratch down for them.
How you feed is up to you the waterer however stay there I just remove the food cause if I didn't they would never leave the feeder....lol

Good luck to you I am sure you will find many on here who do things different from others but you will make the right choice.

I keep the only feeder for 26 hens inside the coop, which helps prevent wild birds (and other free-loaders) from accessing their expensive feed; but I have a waterer inside, and one outside - especially when it's warm, because they drink a lot more water then. Of course, they seem to love really gross muddy puddles more than the cleaned-daily waterers - go figure! But mine go in and out all day, even when they are free-ranging, to eat and drink and lay their eggs.
