How many nest boxes are reccomended for about 10 standard size hens? Should i give them there own box so theres no fighting or what???

Thanks!

they dont each need their own box. Lots of times they like to use the same one, so 1 box to 3-4 birds is a good bet.

Hi from Ga. 2or3 boxes should be plenty you will find it funny when 2or3 chickens stack up on top of each other trying to lay eggs in the same box.

We have 8 eggs a day at the moment and they all lay in the one box for the most part.

I would say 2 (maybe 3) for 10 chickens, but they may pick a favourite and put them all there

@7L Farm: How many girls do you have?

I made several nest boxes and encourage my broodies!!! one for eggs and 2 for the girls sitting, right now. and then with Chicken Math. . . you can add more later if you need them!!! HAHA
