im getting 7 chickens and was wondering if i should have 4 or 3 nest boxes. Their not gonna be hatching eggs in them.

I'd go for three. Some may suggest only two, but I have five girls and two nest boxes, and one does occasionally have to wait for a turn...
I have 8 chickens and we have 3. I'd say go with 3.
