Homemade Incubators?? I would LOVE to buy one...but can't afford it yet. So, I thought I'd tinker around and try to use some of the plans on here for a homemade bator? I know you may have to watch it a bit more and turn them myself. I just want to see if I can do it. Plus I'm home all the time as I have an inhome day care. What are your thoughts/experiences??
For sure do it! It is a fun project and not too hard to get it working well.
IMO it is worth buying a wafer thermostat assembly ($30 or less, from poultry supply houses under "incubator parts") but the rest can be scrounged easily. Read a lot of different peoples' incubator pages to see what design you want to build, then, do it and fiddle it into stability and set some eggs
