Once a year for me, unless I think someone is looking a little rough, then its just the one that needs it.

On BYC site Index, "Emergencies Diseases Injuries & Cures", look at the top of the list & find "Helpful References & Links" there is a section on worming. You might want to read it as it describes different types of wormers & dosages & peoples experiences with them.

Here is a description of wormgaurd:

Organic poultry dewormer is safe and natural; FDA approved. Concentrated food grade diatomaceous earth, whole flaxseed, grape seed extract as well as 4 strain of Lactic acid bacteria for improved digestion and feed conversion. Feed daily to keep poultry worm free. Add 3 cups to 50 lbs of feed or 1 tablespoon to 1 lb of feed. Mix well. No egg or meat discard. Safe for us in layers and broilers.

With those ingredients, I seriously doubt it could eradicate an actual infestation. DE is a preventative, not a de-wormer. If you want to try it, I would be prepared to test again for worms (fecal float), and use a proven de-wormer if necessary.

Never had problems with worms. I would deworm a chicken if it needed it.
I do not like the overuse of antibiotics and dewormers in chickens as it creates
resistance to those chemicals.

Worm Guard is DE, pure and simple. As chookchick stated, good as a preventative. Not a treatment.
ETA: It's cheaper to buy DE as DE than to buy it after they have put a fancy label on it and re-named it wormguard.
