We never had chickens before. Bought 12 chicks on April 1 and we have 4 roosters and 8 hens! We think this is to many roosters. I not sure what to do with them but the are always attacking the hens. They also cornering them in the coop, one rooster had 3 corner.

Welcome! I have heard different numbers. 1 male for every 10 females is one I have heard. It may depend on their breeds and how well they along. You may have to sell some or trade some. Good luck!

Way too many roosters, they will harm your hens ,breeding them incessantly. One rooster is enough for 8-10 hens and that's ONLY if you want fertile eggs. You don't need a rooster otherwide - the hens will continue to lay (non-fertile) eggs.

Way too many roosters. Get rid of 3 of them. When I had to re-home 2 of my roosters, I used FreeCycle (Google it). I had 3 responses from people who wanted them 10 minutes after it posted.

ATTACKING is that what they callit now!! LOL
To answer your question you don't need any unless you want fertil eggs. I have 50 and 2 roosters if they get together the one will kill the other. Some will get along while others don't.
