How messy are chickens?

i want to make a coop, but i am worried that the chickens will poop allover the place. so is there something i can do to line the coop so i can wash it out easier. or a way to make them poop in only one area. i was thinking about putting shower wall stuff on the inside so i can just take a hose and wash it out.

Chickens are messy. I would suggest using coarse sand or fine pea gravel for the bedding in your coop which will hose out easily and dry out quickly.

You're welcome. If you go with sand just be sure and use coarse sand, not fine beach sand which can sometimes impact chick's crops.
