how much chicks eat?

hi, i am going to order 25 asoorted chicks from mcmurray, and i would like to know how much feed they go thru and how fast. if i bought a 20lb bag is that sufficiant to start, or should i just go for the 50lb off the bat? any personal experiences would be welcomed. thanks for your time, kelly

They eat alot! My 1st set of 20 chicks went through a 50 lb bag in about 2 weeks. Now that they are 6 weeks old and I added 6 more 2 week olds, I am going through 50 lbs per week.

I say just get the bigger bag... it won't go to waste!
