How much DE for 50 lbs feed?

I think I need to go to a real feed store instead of TSC.

I have a bag of DE that doesn't exactly say "food grade"...but it is safe to use on fruit/veg plants, in the kitchen....etc...is this the right stuff...no one around here knows what I am talking about...LOL

Can anyone point me to REAL research into DE actually being effective? I've tried, and tried to find it, but so far, am empty handed.

My bag of DE doesn't exactly say food grade either but it is for vegetable gardens and it says on the bag it is safe for animals/people

Pool grade DE is a completely different product. It's not like they sterilized it to call it food grade. Read here:

Excuse my awful math skills! Our food grade DE arrived today and the bag says to add 2% to the feed. Any suggestions on amt. to add to 50 lbs of layer pellets?

2% = 1lb
