How Much DE to use?

Just wondering when you are using the deep litter method, how much DE do you add to your shavings? And how often? I have been cleaning under the roosts overy other day and spot cleaning the shavings as needed.

I sprinkle DE on everytime I add new shavings. Don't really measure it.
