How much feed did you go through!?! Cornish cross.

My cornish cross were processed at a little over 8 wks. We went through about 650 lbs of food. We had 34 birds.

That is about 19 lbs of food per bird! Dressed out average wt was 5.5 lbs.

I processed 51 birds processed at 61 days old last month. They consumed 1150 pounds of feed (22.5 pounds per bird) The dressed weight average was 7.14 pounds. They ate 575 pounds, THAT'S HALF, of the feed in the last 16 days! My next batch is at 25 days right now. They will be processed at 43 days to see if the cost per pound goes down.
