I was wondering how much everyone feeds their meat birds, I keep their feeders full all the time and give them a constant supply of water. Do any of you do things differently?
I purchased 15 cornish rock day old chicks 2 weeks ago and they've already gone through a 25 pound bag of feed and drink a gallon of water a day! They really are ravenous, I'll bet some are already close to a pound each, nothing like my egg layers. Are any of you keeping track of how many pounds of feed a cornish rock goes through in their short life?

Cornish X can eat a scary amount of food! I give mine 12 hours on/12 hours off. Doing so seems to reduce the number of leg problems Cornish X experiences due to the rapid growth rate. I raise mine for roasters - letting them go 12 weeks or more so I don't need leg problems! Folks that raise slower growing meaties might feed 24/7.
