How much fun are chickens!?

Today I spent the day with my 3 yr old daughter holding, petting, feeding the chickens. Checking for eggs and all the other fun stuff they require on a daily basis and as I watched them cruise across the lawn I realized I was happy and relaxed. So nice to let my mind go somewhere other than focus on the stress of life. Chickens=sanity

I never would have imagined that a rooster would ask to be picked up- the one in the picture does! Silkies are the best!

Silkies are generally quite serene and go well with children (and adults).
