How much is too much?

I have 12 chicks. Two are 4 wks. old and 10 are 2 wks. old. I've been spending time with them so they don't scatter when they see humans and use treats alot. Usually shredded cheese, sunflower seed or hen treats. And in this heat I've been giving them a quarter of a watermelon per day. My question is how much is too much when it comes to giving treats.

If they're still eating enough of they're food, I think it's alright. We spoil our chickens with treats too!

I think that as long as they have easy access to their regular food all the time the treats won't be a problem if not overdone.

I do lots of treats with my girls too. Is there an amount of their regular food they should be eating in order or me to know when too many treats are too many?

I think the rule of no more than they can clean up in ten minutes a day is a good guide. The amount of feed they need keeps increasing. That makes it tough to say they need x amount a day.
