hi, I have a one year old rabbit, she weighs 6 pounds, her breed is a harlequin. I use to free feed her pellets and give her all the hay she wants with some veggies in the morning but I don't want her to get too fat lol so I was wondering how many pellets I should feed eachday and how much veggies. ive heard 1/4 cup per 6 pounds and ive also heard any rabbit under 6 pounds should get a half a cup,:idunno so I was just wondering how much you feed your rabbits.:frow

If she is a year old and is a good weight, then the way you are feeding her seems to be working. If she starts to get too fat, cut back on the pellets. You want her to clean them up but if she acts like she is ready to tear the cage door off at feeding time, then you need to feed a little more.

Honestly, I've never actually marked how much pellets I give my two rabbits, lol. I just checked though and they get roughly around 1/2 a cup. I only give them once a day.

I know lots of people give their rabbits daily greens, but I view them more as a treat and give them sparingly.

My one rabbit loves his pellets and gets excited in the morning when I go to give them to him, but I don't take that as he isn't getting enough, because he is.

My rabbits are around 4.5 and barely 4 pounds, though, so if I were you with a 6 pound rabbit I'd err on giving her a little more (pellets) than the average sized rabbit. If you're worried about her getting fat, I'd suggest giving pellets once a day, but make sure she has hay 24/7. I agree with cassie that if she does start getting overweight, I'd cut back on the pellet intake and cut any treats completely (including fruit).

Hope I helped! :)

Hello..I just keep my Bunnies dish full of pellets and free choice hay. She gets half an apple in the morning and a carrot at night. She isn't fat or not in my opinion..:idunno
My bunny lives outside so I also give her scratch grains and a bit of wild birdseed during the week.
