I have some colored broilers from TSC. They said they are Red Rangers, and they appear to be feathering out consistent with a red broiler. I've been feeding them Dumor 24% protein chick starter. They are now 6 1/2 weeks old and growing nicely. They have access to a fenced grassy area and are running around eating greens to supplement their diet.

Should I keep them on the 24% protein feed or should it be scaled back for the remainder of the grow-out period? I'm thinking these will take 11-13 weeks before they're ready to butcher.

If protein should be scaled back, can I do this by supplementing with a bit a scratch?

The protein should be in amounts as followed:

Starter (0-3 weeks) - 23%
Grower (3-6 weeks) - 20%
Finisher (6-Slaughter Age) - 18%

Remember to limit food at 5 weeks of age, and good luck!
