How much sand/how deep for my run?

I am wanting to use sand in my run and was curious if anyone had a good idea of approximately how deep to make it? And also if anyone would know off the top of their head how much sand I’d need for a 16 by 8 foot run? Thank you so much for any help!

One ton of sand covers 220 sq ft 1".
One ton of sand will cover your run 1 3/4 inches.

Yes it should and you shouldnt need it more than 1 1/2 inches high. They will dig down though.

The sand in my run was about 6" deep so my new run which will be the same size 8 by 18 will be the same. it worked perfectly and I had it for probably 6 years
