This is the 1st time I have 1 day old chicks in the brooder. The chicks I have had before were either 3 days old or were raised by their momma.
They are sleeping a lot and I'm not sure if they are sick or it's normal for babies to sleep so much. When they were drying in the incubator they were chirping all the time and running around all the other eggs in there. Now that they are in the brooder they sleep all the time. They are only awake when I come and talk to them or when they are eating. When they hear my voice they stand up and start chirping. Is it normal for them to sleep so much? My 3 day olds were very busy.
