I’m leaving for 2 weeks and I’ve already found a chicken sitter. They are a very close friend of mine who own’s a lot of other barn animals and at one point they did raise chickens. I have an only chicken and she is very easy to take care of. The only thing she would really do is clean the poop from where she sleeps every day depending on how much she pooped, give her food and water, and lock her in at night and of course take her out in the mornings. My chicken usually free ranges but I’m not sure if she will with my friend. So how much is a reasonable pay?

Where we live, we trade favors, that way money doesn't cause issues. We take care of the neighbor's animals when she's gone and she takes care of ours when we're gone. Perhaps see if that is something she's interested in. Usually people with farmyards have a hard time going on trips because of the animals

If I was your very close friend and would take your hen to care for her for two weeks, I would not want your money. This would be a favour to a close friend, nothing to be paid for moneywise.

To make it easier and allow your hen some outside time, you could provide the coop and a secure run she would be able to spend her time in.

Well, but that's just me.
