How much vents do I need

I picked up some really nice shipping crates the other day, and I'm going to be turning them into a coop for my 4 silkie chicks, or I guess who ever really wants to use it, since it will be on the other side of the same run, they will be separated for a few weeks, but I'm hoping that they will all be able to free range together at some point. It will be 7 feet long by 4 feet high and 38 inches deep once its all put together. So how many vents should I do.

I first thought about putting in the middle section a 2 inch lifted roof from the rest, and have it be on both sides, 2 inches by 38 inches for a vent, but now I'm thinking I want to keep the roof level since I'm going to most likely throw a piece of tin roofing on it. So I need to cut out. So I'm not sure how many, and how big they should be.

If you go by that advice, then the more, the better.

I'm new to chickens and wonder about how much ventilation. That was an eggselent link, scratch'n'peck. Thank you. I have some natural ventilation, but now know I need more.
