My chicken is on the mend but I have been questioning ?

If a "bird" is so sick as to not be able to drink by itself how much water do they need per day ?

I typically use a syringe so it easy to see how much water I am administering

I also posted for a BIRD as many people have bantams to turkeys and may have the same question.
A cc per pound amount would be fantastic

My Jersey Giant rooster drinks a little over a quart of water per day. During hot days, more.

It depends on the size and weather conditions.

Thanks

I'm sure an active healthy bird uses more water than a sick bird and probably drinks more than they need !

Does anyone know the minimum amount ?

Can anyone help me on this question ?

See if this helps; I found it today when searching for the same rough info as I have a sick pullet who can't effectively eat/drink. I've tube fed her 3x starting last night with early positive results; I'll weigh her tomorrow and try to more accurately fulfil her dietary needs.

Wow. Cool info on way many critters . . .

My computer isn't letting me copy and paste the short paragraph on Gallus gallus, but briefly it cites 120 ml/kg for layers.

Interested in food/water requirements for nutria? Manatees? . . .
