How much would we pay for a swab egg sex tester?

What I need is individually sealed double ended swabs that when unsealed and both ends used to take surface residue from eggs, would tell in a reasonable time if the egg is fertile and the sex. Put 6 eggs along a 12 egg carton, put tested swabs in open slot across from egg, return in some hours and see the results.

Two dollars a swab might be reasonable but I'd go higher.

Who's ox would get gored? Feed and scratch sales would improve but volume chick sales would see some decline.

Let me figure this----I have hatched about 10,000 in the last 3 years----Times(X) $2 or more----that comes to a lot???

Being Honest. I would not take the time to swab, and mail in if the swabbing was free, But My set-up is different than some----shoot most of the time I get as much or more out of a grown rooster as I do a young laying hen.

I tried a couple of hatches first with an old hen I liked then with the oldest roo. Both hatches failed although a hatch of the old hen's eggs last year resulted in 2 of 6 hatching but both cockerels. My previous hatches were successful when the birds were younger. I've wasted time and effort and just discovered 'started pullets' earlier this afternoon. I suspect I won't be running the incubator again. The eggs are used at a rate of 2/day with a rare egg salad sandwich. I live alone. Sibling's families aren't big on eggs, heart and other health issues. I ended up buying 2 chicks last year and they've gone into molt. The upshot is I've been buying my eggs. I'll be buying a couple of started pullets as a birthday gift to myself. But, if a competent test of egg fertility and sex, reasonably priced, were available. I might hatch some more.

But I would expect the double ended swab would be color coded, one end red or blue for gender and the other emd turning some color to indicate fertility. But the state of art in this country so controlled for profitability it won't happen here. Perhaps a freelancer in Australia or Cuba.

But I do see a problem. If such a swab were marketed, women would demand the standard pregnancy test be modified for sex regardless that the DNA isn't alike.
