Hey there. I have a male/female golden sebright pair that was born March 1. I was thinking of selling them for $25? Is that too low? Too high? What would you sell them for? They are a gorgeous pair.

I also have a red frizzle Cochin rooster born March 1. I’ve been planning on selling him too but I’m unsure what to charge. The picture attached is of my other red Cochin frizzle who has some black on him. The one I’m planning on selling looks just like this one but is solid red.

Any help is appreciated!

I would pay 35$ for that hen, (she's so pretty!) the rooster, a little less. I'm not sure on the frizzle though. What kind of personality do they have? If I was buying them, I'd range price based on personality.

Here in my area of England, you’d get £20 for the Sebright pair and £5 for the boy frizzle. But look at how they’re priced in your area on sale sites/Facebook. Prices can change dramatically depending on where you are and the demand.

The sebright pair seem really docile. They hang together all day everyday. I kind of hate to get rid of them 😕 I’m thinking maybe I should ask for more $$?

Take into account that they are hatchery quality, so they can be purchased as chicks for just a few dollars. Also they can’t be shown and really shouldn’t be bred. However they can make excellent pets!

$25 sounds reasonable for the Sebright pair. Take into account that only $5 of that would be for the cockerel.

That being said, I would mark your Cochin cockerel at $10, keeping in mind that you'll most likely sell him for $5.

Always remember though that every area is different, and there are no "wrong" prices. You may just have to lower them if you don't get hits. Some people would happily pay $25 for that pair. Others might think it's crazy.

I sometimes pay upwards of $40-60 per pullet. Maybe I'm the crazy one? 🤔🤪
