There is 2 male to choose from she said and one female female looks to be an India Blue but the pictures arent very good ones......and 1 male looks to be a India blue and the other one a emeral green.......But like i said her pictures are not good one............let me no the price for a pair like this??? thanks

I am not going to be any help here I am sure, and I hope someone else gives you a better idea, but here I go anyway... I would start at $75.00 less than what she was asking. At least. Have cash in hand.

LOL. I have no idea what they are really worth. I mean, it seems like the India Blues are $20.00-30.00+ per chick. These are grown, supposedly healthy, and would be getting close to breeding I think.

So, she deserves something for all that time and food. But, and I don't know how the peacock/hen circles work, if they are just your run of the mill backyard peafowl, I don't think I would go crazy paying a ton for them. Again, I am writting this nearly certian I will be corrected.

Post pics if you end up getting them!

Dear Puzzled,
I'm not sure the going rates in your area - but here are 2 ideas. www.eggbid.com they list many adult, started & chicks. They have a category for peacocks that might give you an idea - reserve / starting bid amounts.

At the recent auction in LaRue, Ohio - adult males with any kind of tail brought about $140 each. A hen went for about $100-110 if she was of laying age.

You probably have an Indian blue and a Java green. $225 for both is not "excessive" but only you know what you can pay (this month vs last month before taxes, in my case - very different!)

Hope this helps.

Just a little high for normal blues.depend on your area, I sell blues breeders for 150.00 to 175.00 a pair. Now if split to other color or patterns more. The green my guess is a spalding, not java , a Java would be worth the 225 by it self

I know there is a guy on craiglist by me selling yearling females for $30 and adults hens from 2-7 years old for $60. However I was at a swap today and a guy was asking $80 for yearling pairs of blues. I bought a pair of pied two year olds for $150 from him. I guess it really depends on how bad you want them and how available they are in your area.

Wow that is expensive! At the auction here I have never seen a peacock go over $25. There has been Whites at our auction also they sold for about $35. The male had a full tail! I bought some yearling Indian Blues for $7.50ea! 2 males and 5 hens. I bought them for a friend and he they are now in full color and beautiful tails!

Really great prices Ryan! You should buy some at auction and have them shipped to me!

Here a while back (here being Kentucky) there was a person that had pairs of india blues listed for $75 a pair, which I thought was pretty cheap. They don't often come up in auction, and when they do, I don't pay attention to the prices. But I know a friend of mine has had some before, and she sold pairs for well over $150. I think $225 would be a bit steep, but it really depends on your area and what you are willing to spend.
