how often do i change the shavings, and what grit do i use ?

I have 4 chicks that are 3 weeks old in a 3*4 brooder and I want to know how often I should replace the shavings ?


I also bought some #1 grit and want to know when I will need #2 grit ? Thank you!

You chicks only need grit if you are feeding them anything other than
chick feed. You can give it to them anyway in a small dish off to the side.
They will take it if they want it. I use chick grit until at least 6 weeks old.
