How often do I put Vaseline on my hen's combs/wattles?

I just put Vaseline on all 5 of my hen's combs and wattles this morning. Do I need to put some on everyday or one time that's all? I'm very confused with all of these different opinions from friends. Thank you

I live in alaska and i have to put mine on everyday...so it all depends on how cold it is

I'm in Washington on Mt. Rainier where it is cold but I haven't put any on my Wyandottes. So far, so good!
