My hen went broody and my neighbor has fertile eggs. I didn't realize my broody was a cannibal and ate a chick. Anyways, 3 chicks hatched out of the 6 viable eggs. One I opened myself to find the chick 1/2 shrink wrapped. The shell was too thick to get through, I had to saw it open. The chick I opened fully walking on its hocks recovered after splinting and taping the legs.
Now I have these three chicks, I'm absolutely in love. Unfortunately, I think I have at least 2 boys.
. I can not keep any boys and need to rehome them.
The chicks I hatched are more into me then buying them at the feed store. They literally think I'm their momma and follow me every step staying in between my legs when outside. I sit down, all 3 jump on my lap. I know I'm going to do this again. I will buy an incubator and familiar myself with it before the next time.

Here's my bunch 2 weeks after. I have 2 barred EE's and a barred/RIR
The chick I opened myself(miracle chick) barred EE 3-4 days younger then the others
