How old are chickens when they stop laying?

I have chicks who are no where near laying eggs yet... but I was just curious when most chickens stop laying eggs.
Also- how long do chickens live?

Most will live 3-5 years, but that is an average based on illnesses, injuries, stupid chicken tricks, and predation. Many folks have chickens that are 10+ years old.

Most hens will lay regularly up to 5 years, but slow down significantly after 2 years.
