I have 3 cochins and 3 blue laced red wyandottes. They are only 8wks old but curious? How do you know when it's breeding season? Thanks.

to answer the question in your title, they have to be laying eggs. Usually, that is about 5 or 6 months old, but it can be longer depending on the breed. You also either need a roo to make the eggs fertile, or buy fertile eggs. They dont really have a 'breeding season' they just breed when they want to

It's breeding season whenever it is. I am assuming you mean when do you know they are about to lay? That can get tricky. But they can go broody any time after they start to lay. I've even had one go broody after laying her first egg.
