Is there a way to tell roughly how old my Welsh Harlequin drake is? I’m not looking for exact age or anything, more like trying to tell if he’s young or old. I have a few reasons I’m wondering but mainly asking now because the dude has 6 girls chasing him around bobbing their heads at him and he just ignores them. This has gone on for almost 4 months now.

He's of age and is definitely over or around 7 months old. The females bob their heads by the side of the drake because they're indicating that they want to mate with this particular drake. It's normal and it's also normal for a male to not mount every time a female bobs her head. He may be mating with them when you're not there. Most drakes in their first-year mate with others like crazy, but they usually start it when it's their next summer season when they're older and naturally starting to want to do the part of a drake. :D

I knew about the head bobbing thing and that’s why I mentioned it- it’s funnier the more you think of the poor guy being chased around by all those girls flirting. And apparently the other guy
