HOW OLD IS SHE? I would appreciate some thoughts...

I have done a lot of research And found that my Charlee is a RIR variety, but I am lost on how old she is. I am anticipating the arrival of our first egg, my husband teases me and says I love her more than him and our three kids but my kids love her as much as I do. I found Charlee in my yard on Jan 1st, these pictures were taken Jan 21st. She has changed so much so quickly. It was really funny because we were actually planning on getting some chickens in the spring and Charlie just happened to appear in our yard. I have fallen in love. Im getting some baby chicks on my birthday Feb 6th, the big 29!

unfortunately chickens don't have teeth- I don't have a clue how old she is but, she is cute

I would guess around 3 months. I don't have RIR's but mine were pretty similar in size at that age.

Echo. Right around 12 weeks. You'll probably get your first egg in just over a month or so.

Glad you joined us! I'd guess that Charlee is about 3-4 months old; well past the chick stage but not ready for laying yet. Also, she doesn't really look like a RIR--I would say that she is some sort of game bird mix. Very pretty and cute little bird!
