how old should baby ducks be for worming

louandneil, I found some information for you here (In a nutshell, it is not recommended for ducks, although people do use it; therefore use it the same as you would for chickens)

Unless your actually seeing worms I don't think I'd worm, ducks [water fowl] are not prone to external and internal parasites unless kept in filthy conditions.

I'm in agreement with you. I haven't wormed my ducks, nor do I intend to (unless it becomes necessary and even then, my first port of call for advice would be the breeder I get my birds from because a) I know her; b) I trust her experience and knowledge; and c) she won't charge a vets consultation fee for the conversation

)

Another reason: anything that can get over excited and argue amongst themselves over a fat, slimey slug as a delicacy must have innards of steel

Yep, you dont have to deworm ducks (ducklings) like you do as routine maintenance with puppies and kittens.

As they mature you can have your vet do a fecal check, if they show signs of worms then you can treat at that time. We use Ivermectin topically between the wings on the back on ducks and geese when its needed. (needed here is more often than other places because of our climate)
