how old to feed mealworms?

Now is it still to cold to put my little 5 weekers out. Want to give them meal worms, but unsure where to our the grit. Do I put it in another container and they can just eat it as they want? Also is it grit that is used for other birds found st the pet shop?

In the USA, I have access to Chick Grit and Poultry Grit.
I use Chick Grit from 2 to 7 weeks mixed in Start & Grow feed, at a ratio of 1 pound to 40 pounds of feed. .
I offer the larger Poultry Grit at 7 weeks in a separate container. . .
@aart uses a colander to filter Poultry Grit to get the smaller pieces for his Chicks.
I feed my Chicks a Medicated Start and Grow feed for 10 weeks, so I don't offer treats till 10 weeks old. GC
