How Old

How can you tell if they are too old to lay eggs any more??
We got 4 hens last Nov and don't know how old they are. One of them has stopped laying. are there any signs that hens are too old to lay anymore??

I wonder too. My flock started with three rehomed hens, I'm guessing they are a couple of years old. So far they are laying fine. The one has given us a double yolk every four weeks or so since we adopted her in the spring. I wondered if that could be a sign (maybe like menapause in chickens, LOL)

I'm sure someone here has ideas for us!

New here too. I have read that some hens can lay all their lives. I just read a post this week from a lady that has a 10 yr old that lays almost every day. I've also read that they lay best for the first 2-3 yrs.
