I’m new to hatching eggs and I got one chick who is 17 hours old and has been doing fine he sits up very wobbly for a few seconds then starts to fall asleep and lies down then wakes up and repeats makes some noise has had a drink but is very wobbly
Is this normal?!?
Plus do you think he would survive the night or should I stay up to keep an eye

I would go to bed and try to sleep.
The chick probably just needs to rest because it's newly hatched.
But even if the chick does have a problem, there is not much you can do to help.
So I think you might as well be rested tomorrow.

Yes, of course you can peek at the chick if you wake up in the middle of the night anyway-- but I do not think you should try to stay up all night, and I do not think you should set an alarm to wake you up during the night.

Try putting a drop of nutri drench in the water to give him a boost. You could also give him a little drop through a syringe. Sugar and water if you don’t have nutri drench. Just be very careful when doing it so as not to asphyxiate ur chick

Yes, chicks sleep a lot when they hatch.
I had a chick hatch that was really wobbly after 24 hours, more so than the rest, it gave me cause for concern, she seamed quite small and weak, so I put nutri drench in the water and syringed a couple of drops into her mouth on the advice of the breeder. She was absolutely fine after a couple of days.

Your chick sounds normal. Some people water and feed right away. I don't in the first 24 hours. I let them rest. They can even survive on the yolk sack for 3 day.
