how should I feed my flock?

Should I fill the feeders and keep a steady supply of food for my chickens or feed them once or twice a day? I have lost 3 hens in the past couple of months that were very large so I'm wondering if I'm over feeding them,,,

I feed mine in the morning, & again in the evening. I put enough down to where it takes about 5 minutes to clean up.

That is what I do. I like them to come to me for food. I only keep food in the coop at winter when I know they don't want to come out as much.
