I've got a 6ish week old mallard duckling. Shes not been around other ducks for about 2 weeks when an accident in her brooder happened and they all got drenched and chilled while I was out. She's the last one remaining. She's doing good, she fishes and has often swims in her own pond. I should introduce her to other ducks as quick as possible, but what age? Should I get young ducklings or adult ducks? It seems all the ducks needing rehoming are young ducklings <2 weeks or ducks >5 months, so I'm a bit torn. I don't want her injuring another duck and I don't want her to be injured. We have bonded a lot because I've been socializing with her as much as possible. I want to make sure to take every possible precaution.

So I’m a little confused...... are you asking “ should I put her with the 5 Month olds or the 2 week old ducks?” Because if so I would personally put her with the smaller ones. Mallards are a smaller breed and if you are putting her with full size 5 month olds she could get smashed. Watch her close and if she is picking on the younger ones separate her. But she should be ok since they age gap is smaller with the younger ducks. Hope this helped!

Since she is still young she should still be able to be put with other ducklings. You would probably need to wait a bit before placing her with adults. As you know ducks grow fast, so I think ducklings a little younger would be fine.
