How to add to your flock???

I have one rooster and 4 hens. I want to add maybe 2-3 hens. How would I transition?

Maybe keep them quarantined for a couple of weeks to prevent them from transmitting diseases to your current flock. Do you plan to get already laying hens or chicks?

I want to get already or close to laying hens. my rooster is mean to one of my hens and she hangs out by herself. I don't know if she cares to be alone so, I thought I would get a few more and see if they would hang with her. she is afraid of the rooster so she wont hang with the flock. he is a really good rooster him and this one hen have issues.

I would still say quarantine them for a bit, that's my opinion. But I think you can perhaps sneak them in the coop at dusk when the others are settled. Of course they will be pecked at a bit but I assume since you want to get hens, they will be about the same size... which REALLY matters.

Quarantine them if you can. Its up to you on the risks you want to take. After the quarantine house them next to each other, but separate for a week or so. To let them get to know each other. This makes it go better, whether you just throw them together or do a slow integration.
